COMPANY PROFILE
Sharjah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Located along the coast of the Arabian Gulf, just a few kilometers from Dubai, the city of Sharjah is the cultural center of the United Arab Emirates. The emirate’s leading role in the cultural renaissance of the Arab region has been recognized internationally multiple times: in 1998, Sharjah was named the Cultural Capital of the Arab World by UNESCO; more recently, in 2019, Sharjah was named the World Book Capital by UNESCO.
COMPANY OBJECTIVE
The Sharjah Book Authority, the emirate’s government entity, needed to promote its presence, as well as that of its authors and illustrators, and to generally enhance the new Arab cultural production at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the main event for children’s publishing, where the emirate was the guest of honor.
